Our Service is More the just a Warm Meal
Available Services
Meals on Wheels Program
Meals on Wheels of Middle Georgia, Inc., provides home delivered meal services to enable the homebound elderly and disabled citizens to remain safely in their own homes. Hot meals are delivered five days a week by volunteers or staff drivers who make sure each client is well and safe. The meals are planned by a dietitian and contain a minimum of one-third of the USDA dietary requirements. In addition to hot meals, the majority of our Medicaid clients receive frozen meals and/or shelf stable meals since we represent their only source of nutrition. The amount of assistance an individual needs with daily living skills (walking, eating, bathing, dressing, etc.) and whether that need is being met within the home as well as nutritional risk status determines eligibility for home delivered meals. We work closely with the Area Agency on Aging to deliver services to the homebound elderly and disabled in Bibb and Jones counties.
Private Pay
Our meal delivery service is available for individuals in our service area who would like to pay directly, rather than qualify for a funded program. There is an initial, non-refundable payment of $30.00 and a two-week notice to cancel home-delivered meal service.
Hot Meal: $40 per week, includes 5 meals
Frozen Meal: $40 per week, includes 5 meals
Frozen Meal: $56 per week, includes 7 meals

Pet Services
Many of the people we serve are also pet owners. Some are facing the difficult decision of giving up their pets because they no longer have the means to properly care for them. Asking someone to give up a beloved pet can be as traumatic as asking someone to give up their own child.
Receiving the love and attention from a cat or a dog can drastically improve the quality of life for those who are suffering. Sometimes just knowing that there is another life to care for can bring a new meaning of joy to people who are going through a hard time in their lives.
We provide dog and cat food for our homebound Meals on Wheels clients. This program ensures that our seniors won’t have to share food they receive from Meals on Wheels with their dogs and cats.
Grants and donations make it possible for us to provide pet food. We accept dry pet food and monetary donations for our pet program.
